Launch day is approaching!
Launch Day is coming for ACE Planning Company!
I really wish my calling was for cookie decorating, jewelry making or fashion design. I’m not saying any of those are easy – creators have incredible talent and skill they’ve honed for many years. Their expertise make it look easy. I think it is fair to say those passions are easier to engage than my life calling: which is to is helping others in ways they did not realize they needed it. My goal is to educate young healthy people about why they should think ahead about illness and the end of their lives.
We are on a mission to help families prepare and plan for health events that may or may not come. I know what you’re thinking: Why would you plan for something that may not happen? Well, it’s the same reason you buy a fire extinguisher for your home. Because you don’t want to be in the middle of an emergency without a plan.
Advance care planning has been applied in hospital settings to those approaching end-of-life with active disease and / or a poor prognosis. This is an amazing start, but I think we can go one step further. I believe we should be thinking and planning ahead while we’re healthy. And Canadian research shows Canadians think the ages between 35 to 54 is a better starting point (Advance Care Planning 2021 National Poll).
Don’t you think it would be easier to ask your parents about their end of life ceremony wishes before they are diagnosed with cancer or dementia? I can attest from personal experience that this is the case for my family. My beautiful grandmother is almost 90. She has increasing health frailty and many co-morbidities including dementia. We make as many memories with her as we can knowing we don’t have many years left. We struggle and avoid asking about her wishes at this point in her life – because it’s too close and too real a conversation for her.
I’m sure some of you reading this can relate.
At ACE Planning Company, you won’t receive aggressive, predatory sales tactics because frankly I loathe feeling targeted for a sale. Secondly, as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, I am held to high ethical and fiduciary standards that place the best interest of the client in my care as the main and top priority. I want you to decide if advance care planning is for you and I will do that by raising awareness through education.
